SELF BEFORE SELFIE
Overweight is due to positive energy balance; the intake of calories is more than the expenditure of energy. Overweight is a state in which there is a generalised accumulation of excess adipose tissue in the body.
PCOS / PCOD
PCOS is a hormonal problem that can affect a
woman’s menstrual cycle, fertility, insulin
production, heart, blood vessels & physical appearance. PCOS / PCOD
is the most common hormonal reproductive problem in women of childbearing age.
An estimated 5 to 10 percent of women of childbearing age have PCOS / PCOD. In
women with PCOS, the ovary doesn’t make all the hormones it needs for any of
the eggs to fully mature. They may start to grow and accumulate fluid. But no
one egg becomes large enough. Instead, some may remain as cysts. Since no egg
matures or is released, ovulation does not occur, and the hormone progesterone
is not made. Without progesterone, a woman’s menstrual cycle is irregular OR
absent. Also, the cysts produce male hormones, which continue to prevent
ovulation.

Lean Up
A more accurate definition of overweight and obesity should be based on the total amount of body fat. Percentage of body fat, subcutaneous or abdominal fat and visceral fat in the abdominal cavity are the components of body fat that are associated with health risk.
CHILD NUTRITION
The child who is taught to eat everything on his plate is much more likely to enjoy optimal health than the one who picks and chooses. Juvenile obesity occurs most rapidly in the first few years of life. There is a marked increase in the adipose tissue cells. Too many calories injected in infancy and early childhood leads to an overproduction of fat cells followed by hypertrophy (enlargement of the fat cells). Fat cells once developed do not disappear nor differentiate. For this reason, fat children are inclined to be fat adults.
TWACHA
In order to keep skin healthy, its important to take good overall care of yourself. Your external appearance is dependent on the health of the rest of your body. A diet that supports healthy skin includes high- nutrient, high-water-content foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables. These important foods should be consumed every day. The essential fatty acids found in vegetable oils, sedds and nuts are also necessary to nourish the skin and keep its texture and vitality strong.
HEALTHY PUT ON
Underweight person must be on positive energy balance. Calorie intake should be more than the energy expended. Energy dense foods hold key to weight gain. They should at least eat three major meals a day and snacks in between. Regular outdoor exercise helps to stimulate appetite. Emotional well-being is essential to have a good appetite. Synthetic drinks, soft drinks, alcohol, aerated drinks, too much of tea and coffee reduce appetite and should be avoided.
